Havok

Havok's path to becoming a fire artist began when he was 11 years old and his paper route boss showed him six Gung Fu moves. He was forever imprinted with the interest in martial arts. This led to Havok's formal training in traditional Chinese Gung Fu, and Wu Shu which began in 2006 under the instruction of Richard McSwaine. “The more I learned the more I realized that I didn’t know. The more I realized what I didn’t know, the more I wanted to learn.” He appeared in demonstrations and a parade in Burien that year. It was after his friend Gordon attended one of Havok's parties and brought a set of fire poi that led him into the fire arts in 2007. He began spinning poi in his yard with friends and at parties. Havok met Khan at one of these parties and soon after started attending events for the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA).
Havok's first public performance was at June Faire in 2007. He then joined the troupe and began practicing and performing fire breathing and poi. “I joined the Troupe because they were accepting and open minded people. They gave me a chance to grow and expand my skills.” Havok currently practices poi, and fire breathing. His goals are to learn whips and continue training in the martial arts and fire performance.
“Fire is my favorite element. And the hardest to control”

Havok is a founding member of IGNITION.
